ADETS Alcohol Drug Education Traffic School Who is Eligible for ADETS? All ADETS participants must be referred by a substance abuse assessor. Click here for assessment information The client must meet all of the following requirements to be eligible for ADETS: • A showing of no substance abuse handicap from the assessment • First DWI charge • A Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of .14 or less on the breathalyzer • Proof of referral into ADETS from the DWI substance abuse assessor Out of State referrals requesting ADETS may also be admitted. Such clients must show proof of judgement and an assessment from the referring state in addition to the above requirements. The DMV must have a certificate of completion from the service provider showing the completed assessment and completion of either a treatment program or ADETS before a driver’s license may be reinstated. Fees are as follows: • Convicted of DWI/Consuming & Driving under 21: $160.00 • Everything else: $160 for course + $40 Processing Fee = $200.00
Important ADETS Facts: 1. Group Orientations are held at the beginning of every hour starting at 8am and ending at 3pm. 2. You must have proof of assessment before you can secure your seat. 3. Once you receive your form from your assessor then call 704-927-8814 to get information on how to secure your seat. 4. Your seat is not secured until you come in and pay for your seat in advance. 5. Classes are limited to 20 participants so register early. 6. The ADETS program is 16 hours of classroom involvement. 7. Payment can be made in the form of cash, certified check, or money order. $160 for NC convictions. $200 for out of state convictions and all other referrals. Credit Cards and Debit Cards Accepted. No personal checks. 8. After you complete the class, provided Court Services has your 508 and all information collected is correct your paperwork should clear DMV within 1 week. |
