Notice the thoughts and comments of some Alumni members:
"Through the CDC I realized I was not alone in my
addiction. I was able to openly discuss the problems I was facing in my
life. The counselors treated me with compassion, understanding and
respect. I was never made to feel ashamed of my disease or the things I
did while I was active in it. Now I know that I don’t need drugs or
alcohol to face my every day problems. My experience at the CDC changed my
life in more ways than I could have imagined. I finally have an
achievement that I can be proud of. The support network I built at the CDC
has been a great part of my recovery, and I look forward to giving back as
much as I can." -Tim F.
"The CDC has played a great part in my life, through the
grace of God. Without treatment and the fellowship, personal fulfillment
could not have been achieved. It has saved so many people’s lives from
alcoholism and addiction. I am here to say I’m happy and sober, one day
at a time. It works if you work it." -
Mary B.
"Being involved in the Alumni Recovery Association is a
great experience for me because it gives me the opportunity to share my
continued recovery, while supporting the CDC. I can’t think of a better
way to stay in touch with other CDC graduates in a fun and supportive
atmosphere. The CDC has done so much for me and my family, being involved
like this is a wonderful way to give back to the organization. "
