Suicide Prevention & Substance Abuse – 2 Hours

Approximately 32,000 Americans kill themselves every year. The number of suicide attempts is much greater and often results in serious injury. People who have a dependence on alcohol or drugs in addition to being depressed are at greater risk for suicide. Learn three life saving skills for suicide prevention.

Explore trends and crime rates related to substance abuse.

HIV & AIDS - 3 Hours


Updated information concerning HIV/AIDS. Review special needs related to clients before, during and after treatment and explore the lives of persons living with HIV/AIDS.

Latino Culture – 2 Hours

Interactive workshop to enhance knowledge on how to approach and work with Latinos. Recognize barriers and ways to interact with the Latino population.

Examine the ethical concerns confronted when working with the chemically dependent community. Update participants on the most current ethical guidelines related to chemical dependency.

Dual Diagnosis - 2 hours

Do you have clients that may be suffering from addiction and mental illness? Explore the issues facing clients and services in treating and managing co-existing problems.

Youth & Gangs – 2 Hours

Do you know the most popular gangs in Charlotte? What are their colors, signs, territories? Explore information about the most popular gangs in Charlotte and learn how to identify youth that may be involved in gangs.

Sex Addiction - 3 hours

How do you recognize and assess someone addicted to sex? This program will discuss problematic sexual behaviors and correlation and interaction with various other addictions.
