Servicios Latinos En Español El Centro de Dependencia Química tiene ahora servicios para la comunidad Latina, desde programas de prevención a diferentes niveles de tratamiento, cruzando toda barrera, tanto de idioma como de cultura. Histócamente el programa Latino comenzó en 1994 con un sólo nivel de servicio. El programa se expandió rapidamente a cuatro niveles de tratamiento (Escuela de tráfico; Programa de 20 horas, 40 horas y 60 horas) en un esfuerzo para lograr suplir la demanda de la creciente comunidad Latina en Charlotte y el area de Piedmont. El programa de Tratamiento Latino también provée toda la gama de servicios de asesoría y evaluaciones, así como también de intrevenciones familiares y de referencia a servicios de internado para el abuso de sustancias en el Estado de Carolina del Norte ( Programa de Casa Cosecha). El Centro de Dependencia Química también ha ayudado al establecimiento de grupos de auto ayuda con 12 pasos en el área. Entre los aňos de 1994 a 1998 había unicamente un sólo programa de 12 pasos. Hoy en día el área de Charlotte cuenta con cinco grupos de este tipo. En los últimos cuatro aňos el Departamento de Prevención del CDC ha comenzado a implementar programas de prevención en Espaňol para poder llegar al núcleo de la famlia Latina y sus hijos . Ahora podemos anunciar orgullosamente que todos los programas de prevención han sido incorporados a la comunidad Latino Americana. El más reciente programa ofrecido por este departamento es el programa “Fortaleciendo a la familia” y el grupo de “Girl Power”(Fortaleza a las niňas). Algunos de los programas de prevención ofrecidos con curriculums con base científica son: “Preparandose para los aňos libres de drogas” “STAND” (Students – Estudiantes – Taking –Tomando- Action – Acción – on Drugs – en las Drogas) “Movidas inteligentes” Presentaciones en diferentes escuelas del area. El CDC está orgulloso de continuar siendo los pioneros en el desarrollo de servicios ofrecidos a la minoría de mayor y más rápido crecimiento en los Estados Unidos de América. In English Yes!!! The CDC now has services provided in Spanish for the Latino community, from the prevention side to the different levels of treatment, and crossing borders, with no language or cultural barriers. Historically, Latino Treatment Services started at the CDC in 1994 with only one level of service. The program soon expanded to four levels of Service (Traffic School; 20 hour, 40 hour and 60 hour treatment programs) in an effort to meet the demands of the fast-growing Latino community in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community. The Latino Treatment office also provides a full array of assessment services and family intervention, as well as referrals into inpatient Services for Latinos in the state of North Carolina (Harvest House Program). The CDC has also helped the Latino Community to establish 12 step self-help group meetings in the area. The Charlotte area from 1994 to 1998 had only one Latino 12 step group, and to this day, the area has a total of 5 different groups. The prevention department at CDC in the last four years has started implementing their prevention programs in Spanish, allowing them to reach the Latin American families and their children. We can now proudly announce that all prevention programs have been incorporated to the Latino community. The latest program offered by this department being “Strengthening Families” and the “Girl Powerl” groups. Some of the science based programs offered by the Prevention department are: “Preparing for the Drug free years” “Smart Moves” “STAND”(Students Taking Action on Drugs) Menu-Based Presentations The CDC is proud to continue being the pioneer in the development of services for the fastest growing minority in the United States of America. |
