Diversified Options

People referred to any of the CDC’s Treatment Services but who have had an assessment elsewhere can still complete a screening at the CDC and can usually start treatment services on the next treatment day 

Employers may refer employees to the CDC for alcohol/drug urine screening 

The CDC’s Latino Services has a bi-lingual team that provides quality assessment and treatment services

Individual counseling sessions are available to compliment the treatment process 

Other CDC services include Education and Prevention Services, Court Services, and community initiatives 

Many of our programs are available in Spanish and are also held on Saturdays.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program is covered by most insurance plans and Medicaid

If insurance or Medicaid is not available, the Intensive Outpatient Program Fees are adjusted based on a sliding fee scale.

Assessment

Assessment involves a one-on-one session with a clinical counselor that helps determine what services a client needs and what level of care will be the most beneficial in helping them achieve their goals.  This includes assessing for substance abuse or dependency and then making the  appropriate referral.  Appointments for assessment may be scheduled Monday-Thursday from 8:00a.m.-4:00p.m. and Friday from 8:00a.m.-2:00p.m.

Alcohol and Drug Education Traffic School (ADETS)

This is a ten-hour educational curriculum appropriate for clients who have received a DWI.  Other referrals accepted.  Structured as a means to early intervention.  Program Hours: Scheduled in AM and PM and Saturdays also.  No sliding fee or payment plan.

STTOP 20 (Short-Term Treatment Options Program)

Outpatient treatment of 20 hours duration aimed at intervention for clients that have an abuse diagnosis. Program Hours: Group meets in the evening two times per week for five weeks.  A Saturday morning option is also available.  Payment plan available; no sliding fees.

STTOP 40 (Short-Term Treatment Options Program)

Outpatient treatment of 40 hours duration aimed at treating clients with a diagnosis of early stage substance dependence.  Program Hours: Scheduled in AM and PM for client benefit; completion possible in 10 weeks.  Payment plan available; no sliding fees.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) - Primary Care

The Primary Care component lasts for an average of 9 weeks of treatment, with the length adjusted to the client’s needs.  Each treatment day includes a psycho-education group, followed by group therapy.  Clients are introduced to 12-step involvement to enhance the ongoing recovery process.  Relapse intervention services are also available.  Program Hours: Clients may choose either morning or evening.  Morning sessions -  9 am to Noon; evening  sessions - 6 pm to 9 pm, 3 days per week.  Sliding fee and payment plan available.

(IOP) - Continuing Care

The continuing care component lasts for an average of 9 weeks of outpatient treatment   following completion of Primary Care.  This level may be suitable for clients that have completed intensive treatment elsewhere.  Each treatment day follows the same format as IOP Primary Care, along with self-help meeting involvement.  Also appropriate for clients who have completed an inpatient treatment program.  Program Hours: Morning session - 9 am to Noon, evening session - 6 pm to 9 pm one day per week.  Sliding fee and payment plan available.

Women’s Services

Services for women are offered primarily for those who have a history of alcohol or drug dependence and who also have other life issues which may impact their recovery (including but not limited to domestic violence, sexual abuse, or trauma).  Program includes IOP - Primary Care (offered 9:00 am - Noon, 3 days per week) and IOP - Continuing Care (offered 9:00 am - Noon, one day per week)

Nurses Aftercare Treatment Program

The Chemical Dependency Center offers special programming for impaired nurses.  Following a comprehensive assessment and completion of a treatment program that satisfies the North Carolina Board of Nursing requirements, the RN/LPN is eligible to attend the Nurses Aftercare program at the CDC.  This program meets weekly for 90 minutes at the CDC and requires weekly attendance at AA or NA 12 step meetings.  The nurses’ aftercare program is facilitated by a nurse practitioner at the CDC, and focuses on recovery maintenance for nurses.

Latino Treatment Services

CDC’s Latino treatment services offers a variety of outpatient services from a bilingual/bicultural perspective.  Latino Treatment Services offer the following programs: LADETS - (Latino Alcohol Drug Education Traffic School) which is focused specifically for the DWI offender;   SHORT TERM TREATMENT OPTIONS PROGRAMS (STTOP) which include STTOP 20, STTOP40, STTOP 60, and an INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM (IOP).  All programs are conducted in Spanish.  All programs are offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6 pm to 8:30 pm and there is a Saturday morning option for the 20 hour program which meets from 8:30 am to 11:00 am.
